GST invoicing for Shopify stores in India

GST invoices for your Shopify store, created when the order is paid

Orbit Connect creates GST tax invoices for Indian Shopify stores, issues credit notes, prepares GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and IFF working data, and sends invoices to your customers.

7-day free trial. Works inside your Shopify admin. Billing details are shown at checkout.

How it works

Three steps, then invoices run themselves

Set GST up once. After that, every paid order takes care of itself.

Install on your store

Add Orbit Connect from your account here, then open it inside your Shopify admin and add your business and GST details.

Set GST once

Give products an HSN code and a rate, or state a rate once for a whole collection. Add a GST registration for each location and choose how invoices are numbered.

Invoices issue themselves

Switch on automatic invoicing and each paid order gets a numbered GST invoice, ready to reach the customer.

What Orbit Connect does

Everything an Indian GST invoice needs

Invoicing

From Basic

Automatic invoicing, numbered your way

Your prefix, your series, one per GST location if you need it. Or use the Shopify order number as the invoice number.

Off until you turn it on. Needs your GST details saved and the in-app data terms accepted.

Automatic invoices on payment

Switch on automatic generation and each paid order gets its invoice as soon as Shopify reports the payment.

GST accuracy

From Startup

One clear order for the tax rate

Product rate first, then your collection rule, then the tax Shopify calculated, then your store default. No line is guessed.

Shopify's tax is used unless you choose to use Orbit Connect's rates only.

Charges

From Startup

Shipping and COD as their own lines

Shipping, cash-on-delivery and handling fees appear as separate invoice lines, each with its own tax.

Shipping and COD as their own lines

Shipping, cash-on-delivery and handling fees appear as separate invoice lines, each with its own tax worked out from Shopify's tax on the order or your store's default rate.

Reports & filing

From Startup

Working data for your accountant

GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, IFF and HSN summaries, validated before download. For businesses that need e-invoicing: check B2B invoices, then submit through your own GSP account.

Working data, not a filed return. Have your tax professional check it before you file.

Delivery

From Growth

Invoices reach the customer

Email on payment once switched on. WhatsApp from the invoice page. A download link in the customer's own account.

Off until you turn it on.

Integrations

From Advanced

Keep the books in step

Push invoices and credit notes to Odoo with stock and delivery, sync to Zoho Books, export a Tally voucher file, or reach in with API keys.

Needs an Odoo instance with API access: self-hosted, Odoo.sh, or Odoo Online on a Custom plan.

Odoo sync

Push invoices and credit notes for any date range to your Odoo, each with its customer, sale order and delivery, so stock and accounts move together. Syncs run in the background and Odoo kits are supported.

Security & data

Invoices carry sensitive data. We treat it that way

Sensitive fields encrypted

Customer names, contact details, addresses and GSTINs on your documents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored.

Expiring download links

Invoice download links use random tokens, expire, can be limited in use and can be revoked.

Every export is logged

Report exports, downloads and integration connections are recorded in an audit trail kept for a year.

You control retention

Set how long documents are kept, and record customer delivery consent and opt-outs.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they install

What is Orbit Connect?

Orbit Connect is a Shopify app that creates GST tax invoices for Indian Shopify stores. It also issues credit notes, prepares GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and IFF working data, supports e-invoicing through your own GSP account, delivers invoices to customers, and connects to Odoo and Zoho Books with a Tally export.

It is software, not tax or legal advice. Your accountant is still the person to confirm rates, HSN codes and returns.

See every feature

How do I install it, and what do I need?

Orbit Connect installs on your Shopify store from an install link in your account on this site, and then opens inside your Shopify admin. Its launch checklist walks you through adding your business and GST details, at least one GST registration, and HSN codes for your products. Automatic invoicing stays off until you switch it on.

You need a Shopify store and admin access to it. A few features need an account of your own: e-invoicing needs a GST Suvidha Provider (GSP), WhatsApp delivery needs a WhatsApp Business (Cloud API) account, custom email needs an SMTP account, and the Odoo integration needs an Odoo instance with API access.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged.

See the plans

What do the plans cost?

There are four plans, billed monthly: Startup $4.99, Basic $14.99, Growth $39.99 and Advanced $49.90. Prices are shown in US dollars, and there is no annual pricing today.

Each plan includes everything in the plan before it, plus more. The pricing page lists exactly what is in each one.

Compare plans

What happens if I go over my plan's order limit?

Each plan is sized for a number of orders a month: Startup up to 100, Basic up to 300, Growth up to 1,200 and Advanced up to 5,000. Today that figure is a guide, not a hard limit. Nothing in the app stops you creating invoices once you pass it. Pick the plan that fits your usual monthly volume.

How does Orbit Connect decide the GST rate on an invoice line?

In this order: the GST rate set on the product, then a rate you set for one of its collections, then the tax Shopify calculated for that line, then your store's default rate. You can state a rate once for a collection, for example a shampoo collection, and it applies to every product in it. If a product sits in several collections that have rules, the highest rate applies.

Prices can be treated as tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive, and you can choose to ignore Shopify's tax and use Orbit Connect's own rates only. Rates and HSN codes are yours to confirm with your accountant. Orbit Connect applies what you set.

Does it support e-invoicing?

For businesses that need e-invoicing, yes. The app checks your B2B invoices for the fields the invoice registration portal (IRP) requires, and can submit invoices and e-credit notes through a GST Suvidha Provider (GSP) connection that you set up yourself. It does not connect to the IRP directly, so you need your own GSP account.

Whether e-invoicing applies to you depends on your turnover, and your accountant can tell you. We have not published a list of tested GSPs yet, so if e-invoicing is essential to you, contact us before you subscribe.

How do customers receive their invoice?

Invoices go out by email as a PDF, sent automatically once you turn that on. Customers can also download them from the order status page in their Shopify customer account, and you can add a secure invoice link to your order-confirmation email.

WhatsApp sends come from an order's invoice page in the app, and need the customer's consent to be recorded first. Email can go out from your own domain using your own SMTP account. Customers who have opted out are skipped.

Which accounting and ERP tools does it work with?

Odoo, Zoho Books and Tally, on the Advanced plan. For Odoo, you push invoices and credit notes for a date range, and each one is sent with its customer, sale order and delivery. You need an Odoo instance with API access. For Zoho Books, you connect your organization and sync invoices and credit notes. For Tally, you download an XML voucher file and import it into TallyPrime. That is a file export, not a live link.

Advanced also includes API keys for fetching an order's invoice link. Other tools are not supported today.

What customer data does Orbit Connect store?

What an invoice needs: order details, and the customer's name, address, email, phone number and GSTIN where they apply. Names, contact details, addresses and GSTINs are encrypted before they are stored. You choose how long documents are kept, seven years by default, and you can record customers' consent and opt-outs.

Orbit Connect does not sell personal data or use it for advertising. The app asks Shopify for permission to read orders, customers, fulfillments and locations, and to write to orders and products, which it uses for GST and HSN details on products and an invoice link on orders.
